What is the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Facial Rejuvenation?

Intense Pulse Light (Photorejuvenation) Treatment uses multiple wavelengths of light to treat sun damage find wrinkles on the face. IPL also addresses skin redness, age spots, birth marks, broken blood vessels and rosacea. This non-invasive technology brightens skin and is an excellent “add-on” to any facial to enhance results. IPL therapy is an effective and safe procedure with few risks or complications.

How Does Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Facial Rejuvenation Work?

IPL therapy uses broad-spectrum light to stimulate collagen growth, breakdown pigment, decrease blood vessels and shrink sebaceous glands. This procedure does not require anesthesia. A topical numbing cream can be applied to the face along with the cooling gel that is used prior to the treatment. There is no downtime after an IPL treatment.*

What Are the Results?

For optimal results, most patients require an average of three to six IPL treatments spaced two to four weeks apart. Dr. Chernoff or our Nurse will advise you of the length of time between treatments based on your particular skin condition and facial renewal goal. For example, patients suffering with severe acne may require treatment every week to two weeks to get the acne under control, and then monthly treatments thereafter to maintain clear skin.*
