A Long-Lasting Dermal Filler for Smile Lines and Acne Scars
Bellafill is a long-lasting injectable facial filler that uses collagen and collagen-producing microspheres to improve smile lines, folds, acne, and facial scars. In fact, Bellafill is the only FDA-approved long-term dermal filler for acne scars! Bellafill delivers beautiful natural-looking results for facial rejuvenation (smile lines) for up to five years.
Bellafill, as an FDA-approved facial rejuvenation filler, has been available for several years and in January 2015, was also FDA-approved to treat acne scars.
Dr. Greg Chernoff and his certified nurse injectors have extensive experience treating patients with dermal injectables, including collagen injections. Dr. Chernoff has been an early adopter of all types of treatments. He works closely with the scientists who develop the treatments giving him experience with the products and knowledge of how they work.
What Is Bellafill And How
Does It Work?
Bellafill is a unique dermal filler as it works in two ways:
- Delivering collagen gel to targeted areas to reduce the appearance of smile lines and to provide immediate volume below scars, lines, or folds to lift them to the level of the surrounding skin.
- Producing collagen-inducing polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres that are suspended within the collagen that trigger your body’s own collagen production offering long-lasting improvement.
Bellafill is different than other dermal fillers; such as Juvéderm or other fillers that contain Hyaluronic Acid (HA), because your body gradually absorbs HA while the majority of the Bellafill does not absorb. This means Bellafill lasts much longer than HA fillers. Bellafill starts working immediately and continues to add volume over time. On average, Bellafill has been shown to last up to 5 years. Bellafill requires a skin test prior to injection.
Prior to any treatment or procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risk and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.
