Dysport

A Non-Surgical Facial Wrinkle Reduction Alternative to BOTOX Cosmetic

Dysport is an alternative to the popular forehead wrinkle injectable BOTOX Cosmetic. Dysport is an FDA-approved injectable form of botulinum toxin that temporarily treats moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows.

During your consultation, Dr. Greg Chernoff will discuss your facial cosmetic enhancement goals and determine if Dysport is the right injectable option for you.

Dysport is fast-acting, natural-looking, and lasts up to 5 months. Dysport is recommended by Dr. Greg Chernoff and his certified nurse injectors to address:

  • Horizontal frown lines on the forehead
  • Vertical lines between the eyes
  • Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
  • Slight eyebrow lift

But that’s not all—with Dysport, the benefits are endless. For example, you can also experience the subtle transformation of a "lip flip," enhancing your smile's natural charm while conquering the gummy smile that's been bothering you.

And don't let facial thinning or the noticeable signs of Platysma (neck) band softening define your appearance or decline your self-confidence. Dysport empowers you to revitalize your beauty with results that last.

Your journey to a more youthful, confident you starts here with Dysport. Dr. Chernoff and our compassionate team are here to guide you every step of the way.

What Is Dysport?

Many facial wrinkles are the result of nerve cells that have been conditioned to tell muscles to contract. Because we frequently contract the muscles in the forehead, around the eyes, and around the mouth, the nerves begin telling the muscles to remain contracted.

Dysport blocks these signals from the nerves, allowing the muscles to relax and smoothing the wrinkles that they cause. Habitual muscle contractions are blocked, but after a short time the nerve extends new branches to the muscles that allow for voluntary muscle contraction, so you don’t lose expressiveness in the treated areas.

Dysport is an injectable botulinum neurotoxin and is comparable to BOTOX Cosmetic.

Am I A Candidate For Dysport?

If you are concerned about crow’s feet, horizontal frown lines in the forehead, and vertical lines between the eyes, you may be a candidate for Dysport. Dysport expands further from the injection site than BOTOX Cosmetic, so fewer injections are required. Dysport injections will not cause you to lose expressiveness in treated areas.

Dysport is administered with a very fine needle through a series of small injections at the site of the wrinkles and frown lines. Anesthesia is not required before Dysport is injected and patient discomfort is minimal. There are a few mild side effects including, some redness and swelling in the treated area and bruising or discomfort at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve on their own and should subside within a few days of treatment.

As each patient’s wrinkles and folds are different, it is difficult to say exactly how long it will take to see results and how long they will last. Typically, patients at Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery in Santa Rosa can expect to see noticeable results within 1-7 days following an injection session. One treatment of Dysport typically lasts about 5 months dependent upon your individual body chemistry.

Is Dysport Safe?

When performed by a certified medical professional, Dysport is a very safe cosmetic procedure. Since this injectable needs to be administered by a licensed medical provider, we advise individuals to be wary of discounts that seem too good to be true and those locations that offer injectables that aren’t a medical practice. When you undergo treatment at Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery, you can be confident that only Dr. Chernoff or his highly trained and certified nurse injectors will administer your treatment.

Prior to any treatment or procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risks and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.

Are There Alternatives To Dysport?

Botulinum toxic is also sold for cosmetic use under the names of BOTOX Cosmetic, Jeuveau, and Xeomin. These neuromodulator products cannot be used interchangeably. Ask Dr. Chernoff which neuromodulator will best address your facial renewal goals.
