Non-surgically Reduce the Appearance of Your Double Chin
Reducing excess chin fat through changes in diet and exercise alone can be a nearly impossible task. Fortunately, patients no longer have to undergo extensive, surgical procedures to correct this cosmetic imperfection. A series of Kybella injections can provide patient results comparable to those of a more invasive procedure without the pain or downtime.*
Dr. Greg Chernoff offers Kybella and a comprehensive selection of other non-surgical aesthetic treatments to patients in the Santa Rosa area. Don’t let the frustration of submental fullness impact your life any longer – we can help.
What is Kybella?
Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable derived from deoxycholic acid, a substance naturally produced by the body that aids in the breakdown of dietary fat. When injected into the chin during a Kybella treatment, this substance works in the same way it does within the body, destroying excess fat cells in the chin area and leaving behind a slimmer, more sculpted profile.*
How is Kybella Injected?
During treatment, a series of small injections are administered into the fatty part of the chin. While side effects like bruising, swelling, redness, or itchiness after treatment are common, these usually subside within a few days of each session. Typically, patients must undergo multiple treatment sessions, performed over several weeks or months, in order to see a significant amount of submental fat reduction.*
Dr. Chernoff has been certified as an injection specialist. He also has been training physicians and nurses on the art of meticulous injection techniques for more than fifteen years now. All patients undergoing injectable treatments are seen one week after treatment to ensure that they are happy with the results.*
Is Kybella Safe?
Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved injectable medicine used in adults that improve the appearance of moderate-to-severe fat below the chin (submental fat, or “double chin”) and improve your profile.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for Kybella?
Nearly any patient interested in the reduction of their excess chin fat is a potential candidate for Kybella. This treatment is safe for both male and female patients and can be used to address varying degrees of submental fullness. However, Kybella is most effective on patients who have taut skin in the neck area. This is because Kybella only affects the fat cells and cannot be used to tighten loose skin.
Prior to any treatment or procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risk and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.
What Results Can I Expect?
Dr. Chernoff advises patients that the number of Kybella treatments that will be needed to accomplish their chin fat reduction goal varies. Each person is different so during your consultation the recommended number of Kybella injections necessary will be discussed with you. Overall, some patients have experienced visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions, whereas up to 6 sessions may be needed for some patients.*
