Procedures Performed Ellevate Neck Contouring
This patient was primarily concerned with the lack of visible neck and jawline definition, which caused her facial profile to appear aged and heavier than it truly was. This is often due to early platysma muscle laxity and subtle gland visibility, even in patients with otherwise good skin tone. Because her concerns were more structural than skin-related, she was an ideal candidate for the Ellevate neck contouring procedure in combination with a lower facelift.
Ellevate is a suture suspension technique that targets the underlying platysma muscle and submandibular glands, restoring youthful structure and contour to the neck. It’s important to note that in some patients, even after a well-performed facelift, the submandibular glands can remain visible due to individual anatomy. In these cases, adding Ellevate is crucial to achieve a smooth, defined neck contour.
