MLS Laser Pain Management & Wound Healing Rapid Recovery

At Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery in Santa Rosa, CA, Dr. Greg Chernoff offers a Rapid Recovery MLS Laser. This innovative Multi-Wave Laser technology helps improve cellular function, enhance tissue recovery, decrease inflammation, and decrease pain. The treatment works by penetrating the tissue with multiple wavelengths, low-level laser energy, or light-emitting diodes to alter and improve cellular function. This improvement results in decreased inflammation, improved tissue repair, and faster healing.

Dr. Chernoff’s patients have experienced significant physical improvements. One patient had torn her knee meniscus and was struggling to walk. She followed Dr. Chernoff’s treatment protocol, one treatment per day for six consecutive days. After each treatment, she noticed significant improvement. She now is able to comfortably walk up and down stairs and resume her exercise routine.

Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery is the first and only cosmetic practice in the Midwest to administer the FDA-approved Multi-Wave low-level light-based therapy.

Prior to any treatment or procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risks and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.

How does Rapid Recovery MLS
Laser Work?

Rapid Recovery MLS Laser Therapy uses two wavelengths to provide synchronized and continuous energy to stimulate cellular function and decrease pain. When cellular function is improved, this in turn decreases inflammation, stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation, and decreases fluid build-up.

Pulsed laser emissions, on the other hand, have a practically immediate effect on pain, since they are able to induce analgesia, interfering with the transmission of the pain impulse to the higher brain centers, but they are less effective at treating inflammation and swelling. The combination of the multi-wave achieves an optimal effect to provide recovery and relief.

The patient typically receives the treatment lying down on a treatment bed. The laser settings and treatment positioning are prescribed by the surgeon or nurse. The laser is programmed and set in place. The laser will complete the set treatment while the patient is relaxed and comfortable. Patients can return to work immediately.

The treatment takes, on average, about 15-20 minutes based on the number of areas you are interested in having treated. The best results are experienced when patients follow the recommended protocol which is typically six consecutive treatments over a set period of time determined during the consultation

Who can Benefit from MLS
Laser Therapy?

  • Any type of injury or wound that needs healing
  • Arthritis
  • Sports Injuries
  • Tendon and ligament injuries
  • Back and joint pain
  • Muscle sprains and strains
  • Tendonitis
  • Wounds and post-surgical swelling

These conditions can be effectively treated with Rapid Record MLS laser therapy. Unlike pharmacological treatments, there are no known negative side effects with multi-wave light-based laser therapy.

The treatment is FDA-approved, safe, and effective. Dr. Chernoff has treated multiple patients and found that post-surgical healing time is cut in half, which allows more people to reach their cosmetic goals and return to normal function sooner.
