Restylane

It can be easy to feel self-conscious about your age when wrinkles start becoming more evident. We get wrinkles as we age due to a decrease in volume and elasticity in our skin.

At Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery, we offer a variety of the Restylane family of products including; Restylane® Lyft, Restylane® Defyne, Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Silk.

Each of these products are customized to address specific areas of facial aging concerns including, moderate-to-severe facial folds and wrinkles, nasolabial folds, cheek augmentation, thinning lips and lip wrinkles.

Dr. Greg Chernoff and his team of aesthetic professionals will discuss which Restylane product is best for you to help you look, Your Natural Best.

What Is Restylane?

Restylane is a clear gel injectable dermal filler that can be used to assist in augmenting the lips as well as correcting wrinkles and other facial fine lines. The key component of this dermal filler is hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a sugar molecule found in the skin that binds water together for skin hydration. Utilizing hyaluronic acid, Restylane is able to temporarily restore volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane is approved by the FDA for patients over the age of 21.

Who Is An Ideal Candidate For Restylane?

How Is Restylane Injected?

You can be reassured that Dr. Chernoff and his certified Nurse Injectors are experts in injection techniques and achieving optimal results. A topical numbing cream is applied to the injection site so patients experience minimal pain during treatment.*

A fine needle is used to inject Restylane precisely underneath the targeted skin’s surface. To help minimize bruising, ice is applied and pressure is placed on the injection area following the injection.*

Is Restylane Safe?

Restylane is FDA-approved and has been manufactured by Galderma since 1996. Dr. Chernoff and his staff are committed to ensuring that your procedure is a safe one without risks. Patients can typically return to work and most other normal activities directly following the procedure.*

Prior to any treatment or procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risk and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.

What Results Can I Expect?

Depending on the patient’s body chemistry and what the patient wants to accomplish will determine how many treatments will be necessary. With optimal treatments, improvements may last up to 18 months.*

Some patients may experience some side effects like swelling, redness, bruising or tenderness. These side effects tend to last no more than 7 days for nasolabial folds and no more than 14-18 days for injection into the lips. These side effects are typically mild.*
